Session Work Records - The idea:

Session Work Records was founded by Christoph Pepe Auer in 2007 out of a feeling of dissatisfaction regarding the existing labels handling creative, contemporary jazz and improvised music. Trying to integrate himself into the New York jazz scene, Christoph Pepe Auer played many sessions with musicians, whose creativity and cultural specialities influenced his compositional work. Based on this awareness of different cultures containing a cosmopolitical attitude, the name Session Work Records was born. The label is structured as a democratic collective of musicians who present their own compositions which have no need to fit into a purist philosophy of the stylistics of music. All productions show innovations in music and contain a remarkable quality of musicians, recordings and designs.
